- Why the name 'Man Gun Bear'?
'Man Gun Bear' is a game similar to Rock Paper Scissors - you stand back to back and after a countdown, turn and strike a pose: man takes gun, gun beats bear, bear beats man. It was always a fun way to settle an argument and we felt it was a great name for a men's accessories brand.
- Why are your collar stiffeners only available in one size?
From our research, we have found that a 60mm collar stiffener is the ideal size. This perfectly fits the standard pocket length the majority of shirt manufacturers use, and equally well in a collar that is just that fraction longer.
- What personalisation is available on leather products?
Many of our leather products can be personalised using a traditional hot stamping press. We can include uppercase letters, numbers, and the symbols ! . ? & ' and # and -. Please note that we are only able to include three repetitions of the same letter and currently cannot offer accented letters.
- Where can I buy refills for your leather journals?
Refills for our Personalised Leather Travel Journals are available to order on our site, just search code MGB057. They are made from 55% recycled paper and contain 30 blank sheets.

Materials & Product Care
- My cufflinks have tarnished, what should I do?
Don't panic, tarnish is a completely natural process for brass or bronze products and a quick polish will sort them out right away. Visit our care page for guidelines and a video to show you how to polish them.
- How should I look after my leather products?
Our leather is high quality, durable and long-lasting, however as it is a natural material it does require some after care. Please visit our care page for advice on how to look after your Man Gun Bear leather item.
- Why does leather differ in appearance?
As leather is a natural material the exact appearance will always vary from hide to hide. Natural scarring and marks make each item completely unique and this is the charm of working with such a beautiful material.
- Where does your leather come from?
All our leather is sustainably sourced from here in the UK and is a bi-product of the food and drink industry. We predominantly use veg-tanned leather which minimises environmental impact due to the traditional natural tanning process.
- Is leather sustainable?
The leather we use is a bi-product of the meat industry and the tanneries we use utilise a veg tanning process using bark and other natural materials, which means no harmful chemicals. Leather comes from a renewable organic source and is produced safely without undue waste. In fact most of what people used to call 'waste' in these tanneries is now a raw material for other products, like gelatin or energy, and the water is cleaned and increasingly re-used. We are constantly on the look for suitable vegan alternatives but the fact is they are not as durable and true sustainability is questionable. We use leather because it lasts. This is a hotly debated topic that we are well aware of. We believe the leather we source to be sustainable, but we cannot speak for all manufacturers of leather goods.
